Friday Dec 19, 2025

Last Sunday, on the 14th December 2025, in the late afternoon during a Hanukkah celebration attended by approximately one thousand people, two gunmen shot at the crowd, killing 15 people, including a holocaust survivor, two rabbis, and a ten year old Matilda.

We are joined today by Michael Scott, an Australian Army veteran, previously Head of Military to the UN, Founder & CEO of The 2023 Foundation Ltd, a nascent global charity combating antisemitism, and author of A Light Still Burns: Israel and the Values Worth Defending.

Michael shares the importance of understanding the context and unbiased history of what happened in the past, and what we can all do to stand alongside our Jewish and Moslem communities, to push forward a unified and resilient Australia. I wish you all a safe holiday season.

We discussed all things about life, how to build resilience, and the topic of his upcoming book: how to find happiness, not despite, but with the full knowledge, that we’re all going to die in the end.
